Easter Egg Hunt, Here We Come!

Here we are - about ready to go on the hunt for eggs. We went to the football field behind the elementary school. Parents had spread eggs out all over the field, and all 12 first grade classes were there together looking for eggs. It made it a little harder having to find eggs numbered from
1 - 12. Wow! There were all kinds of neat egg designs and treats inside! We could hardly wait to get back inside and see what we got!

Science Is Cool!

This looks interesting!

Pierce helps his mom.
Pierce's mom, Heather Martin, is a kindergarten teacher here at BCPS. She does weekly science experiments with her class and offered to do one with our class. "That was cool! When is she coming back again?"

Computer Learning

Ashlyn is playing a sight word recognition game in Primary Reading.

Computers are always popular at school! Our learning is enhanced through programs such as Primary Reading, Accelerated Reader, and Classworks (Reading, ELA, and Math).

More 100th Day Photos

Catie's 100 pieces of Mini-Shredded Wheats took up more space than Austin's below!
Austin now knows for sure that he brought in 100 pieces of cereal!
Kaveri has about finished checking to see that he has 100 pieces of cereal.
Here are Pierce and Bryttany checking to see if they really had 100 pieces of cereal. They're dividing the cereal into 10 groups of 10.

100th Day Activities

Here are some photos taken from the 100th day of school in January. We did all kinds of activities including making 100th Day necklaces and snacks (10 pieces each of 10 different foods), and doing 10 sets of 10 exercises. The students each created a project at home from 100 things and brought them in to share. Here is Colton modeling his shirt with 100 pennies!

Classroom Writing Winners

Every year, our school participates in the Young Georgia Author Writing contest. Two winners are chosen from each classroom. Savannah and Elizabeth were our winners. Savannah's writing was entitled "On a Dragin" and Elizabeth's was "The Teddy." We're very proud of both of them! Also, we're excited that Elizabeth's story was chosen as the overall BCPS first grade winner!
